Technical overview

What the platform gives you, and where each piece is documented.

SDKs

  • Web — maphero.js
  • Android — io.maphero:android-sdk

SDK documentation

The SDKs render maps. Platform APIs — search, routing, geocoding and optimization — are called over REST from any language.

search — REST
# Every API takes the same header.
curl 'https://api.maphero.io/places/search?key=Nablus' \
  -H 'X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY'

The style URL is your published map’s own domain plus /style.json — the same URL MapHero writes into every published map.

The live map could not start.

Get started

Your first MapHero map in minutes

  1. 01

    Create an account

An account owns your maps, your API keys and one shared credit balance.

  2. 02

    Create a map

Everything hangs off a map — its style, its layers and the places your searches run against.

  3. 03

    Create an API key

Restrict it to the origins your application calls from, so a copied key is useless elsewhere.

  4. 04

    Call the API

Send X-API-Key and read the result from the data field.

Documentation

What the API docs cover

Start with the map.

Create a key, render your map, then add search and routing when you need them.
